International welcome
Since the University of Sussex was founded in the 1960s, our subject strengths have reflected a strong commitment to engage with the world. We strive for an international outlook – to help us carry out world-class research, to recruit the highest quality students and faculty, to prepare our graduates for the global employment market and to inspire our staff and students to make a difference in the world.
We work in partnership with many of the world's leading universities and receive students from 120 countries. Around 20 per cent of our students come from outside the UK, while our teaching community comprises staff from 50 nations. We're also determined that our UK students graduate with a world view. That's why one in seven of our undergraduates spend part of their degree overseas.
We welcome your engagement with the University because of the new ideas and experiences you bring. Your international perspective helps us to expand our understanding of the issues facing the world.
